Unforgettable Helena!

Helena Sánchez Buixeda has become a finalist of  the first writing competition organised by Newlink. Students from schools all over Spain were encouraged to write a composition entittled "An unforgettable summer". Since a lot of my 4th ESO students have a great level of English I suggested to a group of them to participate. Finally, only three students decided to join this challenging competition. They were: Marina Navarro, Núria Gómez and Helena Sánchez who once again has showed her talent as well as her imagination and good level of English in writing.
Now, to decide who is going to be the winner of the final prize - two weeks in London- we need your help:

FONIX 2013

The FONIX competition is designed  to promote the use of English among school students through a fun and educational competition in an informal educational setting. The objective of the competition is to select a finalist from each of the first two stages: local, territorial and the winners at the final stage.
The exercises in all the stages of the competition consist of writing tasks, each based on a different theme (for example: geography, history or music) The written tasks contain a variety of activities on vocabulary, reading and writing. In the final stage of the competition, there will also be an oral section in the test.
On 2nd March, the students who won the local stage went to Girona to participate in the regional stage. The students representing our school were:

                                       Martí Gibert 1st ESO
                                       Albert Vidal 2nd ESO

                                       Helena Sánchez 4th ESO

The regional stage of the competition took place at the same time on the same day in all the examining centres in Barcelona, Tarragona, Lleida and Girona.
The results of the regional stage were available yesterday and our students did their best and the results were great, specially Helena Sánchez who got 117,6 out of 120. It was the best mark of the regional stage. She will be in the final stage of the competition which will be held Sunday 4th May.The test at the Final stage of the competition will consist of an oral as well as a written section.  The result of this stage of the competition will be the total number of marks taken from both parts of the test. The organisers will publish the classification of the candidates in each category and the school they attend by 20th May. All students who qualified for the final stage will be formally invited to the awards ceremony at which the diplomas and prizes will be presented.
So, Helena: Congratulations for your results and good luck for the final stage (although I know you won't need it) of the competition!!
